Our Story
It all began in late 2012. I was walking through an Indian village just a week after proposing to my wife at the Taj Mahal. The sounds of tuk-tuks and street vendors, the heady aroma of spice, the colour and chaos—it was pure India. But amidst the noise, I spotted it. A raw, rugged, beautiful leather bag that quietly sparked the idea for something new.
Fast forward a few months and there we were—standing under a leaking tent at our very first Brisbane market. One bag sold. Soaked through, but smiling. That was our beginning.
Since then, we’ve grown a little. Okay, a lot.
Thousands of customers across Australia and around the world now carry Indepal bags—each one handcrafted with love by third and fourth-generation leather artisans. From satchels to duffles, every bag is built from premium, top-grain leather. Real materials, made to last.
A New Chapter
As our collection grew, so did our vision.
We opened our first store (Indepal Leather) in Brisbane Arcade in 2016, then our flagship store in Murwillumbah, NSW in 2021. With this move came a new name—Bolt + Buckle. A nod to what we now represent: the bolt of cloth in every curated garment, the buckle on every quality bag, belt, and boot.
What started with leather now extends into a broader world of men’s style. We stock standout brands like English Laundry, Levi’s, Industrie, Mr. Simple, Wild Rhino, Will & Bear, and our local legends—Mennie Socks, Milkan, Reer Endz, and Valor Organics .
