About Bolt + Buckle
Bolt + Buckle is for men who value quality, timeless style and products made to last. From menswear and leather goods to footwear, accessories and gifts, we curate pieces that combine great design, quality materials and everyday practicality.
Our journey began with Indepal Leather, inspired by generations of Indian leather artisans. Bolt + Buckle builds on those roots, bringing together trusted brands and unique products that reflect our love of honest craftsmanship and considered style.
Our Story
It all began in late 2012. I was walking through an Indian village just a week after proposing to my wife at the Taj Mahal. The sounds of tuk-tuks and street vendors, the heady aroma of spice, the colour and chaos: pure India.
But amid the noise, I spotted it. A raw, rugged, beautiful leather bag that quietly sparked the idea for something new.
Fast forward a few months and there we were, standing under a leaking tent at our very first Brisbane market. One bag sold. Soaked through, but smiling. That was our beginning.
Since then, we’ve grown a little. Okay, a lot.
Thousands of customers across Australia and around the world now carry Indepal bags, each one handcrafted by third and fourth-generation leather artisans. From satchels to duffles, every bag is built from premium top-grain leather. Real materials, made to last.
A New Chapter
As our collection grew, so did our vision.
We opened our first store (Indepal Leather) in Brisbane Arcade in 2016, then our flagship store in Murwillumbah, NSW in 2021. With that move came a new name: Bolt + Buckle. A nod to what we now represent: the bolt of cloth in every curated garment, and the buckle on every quality bag, belt and boot. In May 2026 we opened our third store, in Alstonville, NSW.
What started with leather now extends into a broader world of men’s style. We stock standout brands like English Laundry, Levi’s, Industrie, Mr. Simple, Wild Rhino, Will & Bear, and our local legends Mennie Socks, Milkan, Reer Endz and Valor Organics.
